LG Display Targets Chinese Gamers With Fourth-Generation Tandem WOLED
What happened
LG Display said on Nov. 5 that it is targeting China's premium gaming monitor market with its fourth-generation tandem white OLED (WOLED) technology, supplying high-refresh-rate, fast-response panels to local monitor makers and collaborating with major gaming monitor brands in China including AntGamer, AOC, ViewSonic and Asus, while expanding consumer exposure through premium internet cafes known as iCafes. AntGamer unveiled its 27-inch ANT272TUE gaming monitor featuring LG Display's fourth-generation tandem WOLED at a product launch event in Zhuhai, China, in September 2026; the monitor supports a 240Hz refresh rate at 4K resolution and 480Hz at full HD (FHD). Fourth-generation tandem WOLED offers enhanced brightness, color reproduction and response speeds for gaming monitors, and LG Display is also applying dynamic frequency and resolution (DFR) technology, which adjusts resolution and refresh rates depending on the game genre. The 24.5-inch gaming OLED panels supplied to China's iCafe market support refresh rates of up to 540Hz. According to the China Internet Service Industry Association, the number of iCafes and gaming hotels rose from 90,000 in 2023 to 104,000 in 2024 and 122,000 in 2025, and is projected to reach 133,000 in 2026, an increase of about 47% over three years. LG Display said it plans to expand supplies to the premium gaming monitor market, including China, with its fourth-generation tandem WOLED, DFR technology and ultra-high-refresh-rate products.
