AMD, FuriosaAI and MangoBoost to Build AI Infrastructure Cluster in 2027
What happened
On Nov. 4, at the AMD Advancing AI Seoul 2026 event in Seoul, AMD's senior vice president of global AI markets, Keith Strier, announced a plan for AMD to partner with FuriosaAI and MangoBoost to build a heterogeneous AI computing infrastructure cluster in Seoul next year (2027). He said an MOU with the two companies would be signed shortly, with the first reference cluster planned to be established in Seoul next spring, integrating processors from all three companies: AMD's CPUs and GPUs, FuriosaAI's NPUs, and MangoBoost's DPUs. FuriosaAI's RNGD (Renegade) NPU is designed for AI inference in data centers, and its second-generation RNGD began mass production in January this year; MangoBoost's DPU is called BoostX. The initiative stems from an MOU signed by AMD and South Korea's Ministry of Science and ICT at the AI Summit in San Francisco in July this year. The event remains at the plan/announcement stage; no formal agreement has been signed and construction has not begun.
