AMD to Supply Latest Server CPUs, DPUs to Oracle

What happened

On Oct. 27 (local time), AMD announced that it will supply its latest server CPUs and data processing units (DPUs) to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). The products include AMD's sixth-generation EPYC Venice CPUs and Pensando DPUs. The EPYC Venice processors will be used in OCI Compute E7 instances, Oracle's virtual server service, which handle orchestration of AI agents and concurrent agent sandboxes that isolate multiple AI agents for secure execution. Pensando DPUs will be integrated into Oracle Acceleron converged network interface cards (NICs), accelerating networking, storage input/output and security operations, and will be deployed in OCI instances powered by AMD CPUs and GPUs. The DPUs also support security patching without service interruptions. The source does not state the cause.
