Hyosung Heavy Industries, Siemens Partner on Digital Power Grid Technology
What happened
Hyosung Heavy Industries will collaborate with Germany's Siemens on digital power grids and artificial intelligence (AI) data center solutions. Hyosung Heavy Industries said it signed a Global Strategic Partnership Agreement (GSPA) with Siemens at the Grand InterContinental Seoul Parnas on Oct. 30. The two companies will cooperate in three areas: digital asset management, digital substations and integrated power solutions for data centers. They will integrate Hyosung Heavy Industries' power equipment diagnostic system, ARMOUR+, with Siemens' cloud-based power management platform, Electrification X; the integration aims to enable comprehensive monitoring of power equipment, from ultra-high to low voltage, and early detection of potential faults. In digital substations, the companies will combine Hyosung Heavy Industries' power measurement sensors with Siemens' digital signal conversion devices. They will also collaborate on solutions for AI data centers, linking Hyosung Heavy Industries' solid-state transformers (SSTs) with Siemens' energy management system (EMS) to improve power operating efficiency. "We aim to become a global total solutions partner covering digital power grids and AI data center operations, going beyond the supply of power equipment," said Woo Tae-hee, CEO of Hyosung Heavy Industries.
