Micron's Taichung union deal eases Taiwan DRAM strike risk; Taoyuan dispute remains unresolved

What happened

With a strike by Micron Taiwan employees looming, Micron Technology said that Micron Memory Taiwan and the Taichung chapter of the Taiwan Micron Memory Union had reached agreement on several issues after multiple rounds of constructive discussions. The two sides signed a labour-management agreement and agreed to withdraw the mediation scheduled for October 22. However, the Taoyuan union has planned a one-day strike for that same date (October 22), and Micron will continue talks with it. The source does not state the cause of the labour dispute.
