Anglia provides resilience during ‘analog frenzy’
What happened
European authorised distributor Anglia Components announced an expansion of its analog semiconductor portfolio, having signed full franchise, stocking agreements with 10 suppliers to help customers navigate the current 'frenzy' in the analog market and reduce supply chain risk. CEO Steve Rawlins said the aim is to give customers choice so they are not left 'high and dry' by the apparent duopoly that has dominated this market. Anglia now offers a full range of analog building blocks, including ADCs, DACs, amplifiers, timing and interface ICs, analog switches, references and power management ICs, from 3PEAK, Silanna, BeRex, Linear Systems, Nanopower, Novosense, Cimo Microelectronics, Zynalog, Raystar Microelectronics and Quest Semiconductors. Rawlins explained that 'price hikes of 30% and more per quarter are not sustainable', and that when coupled with the lack of product availability and support, designers need options for their next platforms even if they do not want to change current designs; Anglia can in many cases offer pin-for-pin compatible alternatives to established brands. More lines are planned to follow to build out the portfolio for a wider range of applications. The source does not specify dates.
