Nvidia, Mercedes-Benz Expand AI Autonomous Driving Partnership

What happened

Nvidia and Mercedes-Benz announced on Oct. 15 local time that they are extending their strategic partnership to develop next-generation autonomous driving systems. The collaboration will combine Mercedes-Benz’s automotive engineering expertise and its Mercedes-Benz Operating System (MB.OS) with Nvidia’s accelerated computing and artificial intelligence (AI) technologies, including Nvidia Hyperion, Alpamayo and Halos. The two companies also plan to develop Level 4 autonomous driving technology, including robo-limousines. Beyond autonomous driving, Mercedes-Benz uses Nvidia technology in its MO360 digital production system to improve efficiency and quality across its global manufacturing plants.
