HD Hyundai Electric, LG CNS Partner on AI Data Center Power Infrastructure

What happened

HD Hyundai Electric said on Oct. 16 that it had signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with LG CNS the previous day at the HD Hyundai Global R&D Center in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province, to cooperate on data center power infrastructure and smart factory development. The companies will establish a system to supply power equipment and distribution facilities required for AI data centers as integrated packages, and will jointly identify business opportunities and pursue contracts for data center power infrastructure projects in South Korea and overseas. They are also considering integrating LG CNS's AI, cloud and data analytics technologies into HD Hyundai Electric's power monitoring platform. In manufacturing, the partnership will focus on automating production and logistics at HD Hyundai Electric's Cheongju Distribution Campus, with HD Hyundai Electric providing manufacturing site data and LG CNS applying its manufacturing AI and process and logistics automation technologies. The partnership is at the MOU-signing stage and remains a planned cooperation, with contracts and implementation not yet realized.
