Microsoft plans a multi-gigawatt rollout of its next-generation Azure Maia AI accelerator, with production deployments planned for 2027. The company claims a 96-accelerator configuration will deliver up to seven times the token throughput of its Maia 200 predecessor and provide 40 percent more tokens per megawatt than leading GPU-based systems. Each Maia 300 accelerator will feature eight HBM4 memory stacks delivering up to 18 TB/s of peak memory bandwidth.
